These have been the most difficult weeks we have ever experienced. The events of October 7th and the aftermath weigh heavily on Israelis and Jews worldwide. We are all trying to find comfort and purpose in these troubling times.
While the horrific events still haunt us, the past weeks have inspired Israeli society and Jewish communities worldwide. Alongside the massive military effort, which has taken fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters away from home, Israelis from all walks of life are dedicating time, energy, and money to the combined effort on our homefront.
We at Shorashim have been looking for a way to help as much as possible. Even in this sad time, we look to what we do best - providing meaningful and fun experiences in Israel.
For the past several weeks, we have been working with hotels in and around the Jerusalem area to plan and operate programming for the hundreds of evacuees of different backgrounds and ages who arrived from all over the country. With our contacts at hotels, we have coordinated various activities, including pet therapy, arts and crafts, theater, music, yoga, challah baking, and even arranging haircuts and self-care.
In the coming weeks, we will expand our efforts to include more hotels and evacuees.
The return to normalcy is still unpredictable, and we want you to join us in our mission to help those who are now in need. Your charitable donation will help us expand our work and serve more evacuees with a wider area of programming.
